Usonia Residence
Peter WiederspahnThis is a reorganization and addition to a single-family residence in the neighborhood cooperative "Usonia." Usonia, located in Pleasantville, NY, was planned by Frank Lloyd Wright after WWII for middle-income Americans.
The main spaces of this house are cut off from the open yard space by the sloping site: the existing domestic spaces are a whole level above the yard. The rnew design will connect this house down to the open yard through a series of half levels, double-height spaces, and an open window wall.
